University

Opportunity —
the chance to meet a self you do not yet know.

The word the University of Wolverhampton has carried with its name for some two hundred years —
this is how we have come to read it.

1827 is only the starting point.
The university's true character lies in never having stopped changing.

The University of Wolverhampton began in 1827, as a mechanics' institute in a city of the Industrial Revolution. But this is not a university to be told in the past tense. For some two hundred years it has kept changing shape with the demands of each era — and it is changing still. That present tense is the story worth telling.

- Offers a Master of Research: Artificial Intelligence (source: university and CEG official materials)
- Home to a specialist cyber security centre, advancing education and research in the digital field (source: university announcements)
- A campus investment of around £250 million under way, including a new business school building — the plan is named "Our Vision, Your Opportunity" (source: university announcements)
- Rated Silver in the Teaching Excellence Framework (source: Office for Students, TEF 2023)

A university that keeps the centre of gravity of its teaching and research at the crossing point of management and technology — and gives even its investment in the future the name "Opportunity". Its tradition is not a style. It is the very capacity to keep changing.

People who chose the same challenge.

Of this university's postgraduate students, 72% are mature students — people who came back to study in the middle of their careers, by their own decision (source: university official website). Its network of graduates spans countries and territories across the world.

The learning on this programme is not the kind where a class gathers in a room. It is designed to be taken at your own pace, in your own time, alone. But the line you join is a lineage: adults around the world who, carrying real workplaces and real responsibilities, chose the same challenge.

Studying from Japan, while working, you are not this graduate school's exception. You are its mainstream.

And should you wish, on graduation day you will wear the same gown they wore, on the university's campus in Britain.

People decide their own limits — by assumption.

Human possibility is not, in truth, a limited thing. And yet somewhere along the way we draw our own boundary line, unasked, and stop inside it. Business owners and those who carry organisations are no exception — if anything, the more you carry, the harder that line sets.

A real master's education is an apparatus for crossing that line.

Reading, thinking and writing it all in English. Answering questions set to a world standard with everything your experience and intellect can bring. It will probably be a time you look back on as the hardest you have ever studied. It is demanding. But there is something that happens only inside that demand — you notice, in yourself, a possibility you had not seen the day before.

With every such moment, the boundary line is redrawn. And you begin to feel excited about your own future.

This experience, we believe, is what the university has long called "Opportunity". Its strategy puts it in these words: "believing in those who believe in themselves". For some two hundred years, this university has answered people who back their own possibility.

And here, two things overlap: the learning environment of a university that hosts a research degree in AI, and our own support, which builds generative AI into the way you learn — as a co-pilot for your thinking. The shape of an MBA for an age in which technology extends the limits of human thought: that is what we are setting out to realise with this programme.

This path is no accident.

The strengths of this programme are not separate "services". They could only be designed as a single path because the guiding ideas of three organisations point the same way.

University of Wolverhampton — answering possibility
"Where opportunity creates success." A university that has answered those who back their own possibility for some two hundred years, and that continues to invest in the future under the name "Our Vision, Your Opportunity". That is why this MBA is completed online, and why it welcomes mid-career challengers as its mainstream.

Chestnut Education Group — removing the barriers
"Making quality higher education accessible to everyone, by removing the geographical, economic and cultural barriers in its way" — the London-based education group that holds this vision designs and runs progression routes in partnership with more than twenty higher education institutions. Learning materials and tutors; the practical work of university applications. It closes the distance between you and the British system, through practical work.

Shibuya Web3 University Co., Ltd. — alongside you as you break through your limits
An operator that brings the way of learning of the generative-AI age from the front line of technology's social implementation. We build your academic foundations in Japanese, hand you the discipline of using generative AI as a co-pilot for your thinking, and stay with you to the end — through a challenge of fifteen months, at most, in which you keep redrawing your own boundary line.

A university that answers possibility. An education group that removes barriers. And us, alongside you as you break through your limits. Remove any one of the three, and the challenge — completing a British postgraduate degree from Japan, while working — does not become real.

For the record, here are the institutional facts, in a form you can verify. The University of Wolverhampton is recognised in UK law as a degree-awarding institution (a Recognised Body) and is registered with the Office for Students (OfS), the regulator of higher education. Its registration can be checked by anyone on the official OfS Register (the destination to which GOV.UK, the UK government's official website, directs you).

EduQual, which awards the Stage 1 Diploma, is an awarding body accredited by SQA Accreditation, a UK qualifications regulator; the qualification is positioned at Level 11 of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework — master's level within the UK frameworks, comparable to RQF Level 7.

The system also has built into it a way of recognising the learning done in the course of work: an entry route based on professional experience for those without a bachelor's degree, and an exemption scheme — Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) — under which professional experience and existing qualifications are assessed and credited. See Program and Apply for details.

The word is engraved on your degree certificate, too.

The degree conferred on completion is the International Master of Business Administration. At the head of the certificate sits the university's coat of arms, and in it are engraved the words it has carried for some two hundred years — Innovation and Opportunity.

It becomes the testament to the possibility you met, in this challenge of fifteen months — at most.

Towards a time you can call the hardest you have ever studied.

It will not be an easy time. Fifteen months — at most — of reading, thinking and writing it all in English. But you will hear, more than once, the sound of your own boundary line being redrawn. And each time, something curious happens: in the middle of the hardness, you begin to feel excited about your own future.

To go and meet a self you do not yet know — that chance is here, now.

Opportunity — it is your turn.
